Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • At least three years of experience in radio or podcasting in a journalistic environment
  • Excellent editing chops and a sense of fun
  • Mastery of professional audio editing software, preferably Pro Tools

Responsibilities

  • Work with the production team (hosts and senior supervising producer) to conceive episode ideas, segments, possible guests, and bonus content
  • Identify and keep up with trends and behaviors across social media platforms
  • Contribute to the research and prep for interviews and assist hosts in reporting
  • Find usable audio (clips and music) that strengthens episodes
  • Schedule interviews and oversee recording sessions, usually over remote connections
  • Edit rough cuts and implement script notes quickly and sensitively
  • Deliver final mixes in Pro Tools
