Summary
Join LeoTech, a company passionate about building software for public safety, as a UX/UI Designer. You will create user experience and interface specifications and prototypes, collaborating with engineers and other stakeholders. Leveraging user feedback and data, you'll make informed design decisions and ensure designs are feasible. This role requires strong design skills, collaboration abilities, and familiarity with UX/UI tools. You will report to the Lead Designer and contribute to a fast-paced, supportive team environment.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree or 4 years of equivalent work experience
- Knowledge of UX design tools, with specific proficiency in Figma and Figma-based component libraries
- Knowledge of analytics tools e.g., GA, Pendo, MixPanel, or other
- Ability to elicit feedback, requirements, and ask clarifying questions
- Ability to define problem statements and present solutions
- Ability to lead workshops with users, customers, product managers, engineers, and data scientists
- Ability to empathize with end users and find creative solutions
Responsibilities
- Leverage the design system and guidance from senior designers to create UX/UI requirements and prototypes
- Collaborate with engineers and managers to define problem statements, ideate on solutions, and create UX/UI specifications
- Receive work from a prioritized design backlog and help inform its prioritization
- Perform “Design QA” to help ensure engineering work matches design requirements
- Help interview and survey LeoTech's users to solicit feedback and act as the company’s “voice of the customer”
- Collaborate with frontend and backend engineers to understand tech stack opportunities and constraints
- Perform user research and benchmarks competitive products
- Support team and/or customer workshops to identify pain points, define problem statements, and identify solutions
- Help define success criteria and KPIs needed to evaluate effectiveness of design decisions
- Help disambiguate and standardize concepts and terminology across all product features and components
- Create and maintain user workflows and journeys
Preferred Qualifications
Some knowledge on FE frameworks e.g., React to gauge how designs impact project scope, developer’s load and timelines
