Summary

Join our team as a Product Designer II and contribute to designing exceptional web and mobile B2B experiences for the restaurant industry. You will lead high-level design projects, leverage your UX expertise, and translate concepts into user-friendly digital products. This role requires a design-thinking education, at least 3 years of relevant experience, and proficiency in design tools. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, advocate for user needs, and contribute to a positive design culture. Requirements

  • A design-thinking education (Bachelor of Design, or Visual Arts, or Architecture, or Industrial Design, or Communication)
  • At least 3 years of practical, in-house product, UX/UI design experience
  • Experience designing for responsive web
  • Strong aesthetic and conceptual skills to help elevate the visual identity of our brand
  • Excellent communication and visualization skills. You can bring internal stakeholders on your design journey and explain work with focus and brevity
  • Fluency in use of design systems, prototyping, and user research methodologies
  • An acute level of self-awareness and deep empathy - for both the customer and your team’s goals
  • Fluency with product, design, and prototyping tools such as Figma, Maze, Google Suite, JIRA
  • English language fluency in written and spoken communication

Responsibilities

  • Lead high-level project work from a design perspective with autonomy and authority, facilitating design studios and working sessions to help the teams deliver the best possible solutions
  • Leverage your UX expertise and understanding of design systems, UI design, and how micro-interactions can help users complete a task
  • Turn nebulous concepts into specific ideas that are useful and delightful end-to-end digital product experiences
  • Design holistic systems, flows and interfaces that are simple, elegant, and user-friendly
  • Understand how to best use the current design system to ensure consistency across platforms and contribute to its continuous improvement
  • Draw insights from research and data, and know how to turn those insights into tangible solutions
  • Build relationships and advocate for the user when collaborating with cross-functional teams in product, engineering, and marketing
  • Be a positive role model and culture carrier within the design team as well as an advocate for design within the Lightspeed organization

Preferred Qualifications

  • Spoken German skills
  • A passion for exploring how AI can enhance user experiences , with an eagerness to experiment and learn
  • A passion for sharing design strategies with fellow designers, product managers, and engineers to deliver better, more user-centered products
  • A deep curiosity and ability to consider product strategy and vision. You don’t just care about “how it looks,” or “what we should design,” but “why are we designing this at all?”
