Join Lightspeed as an Intermediate Mobile Product Designer and contribute to enhancing the mobile experience on iPad using our newly developed mobile design system. You will lead the design of advanced in-store selling experiences, translate complex problems into simple product features, design scalable interfaces, and leverage our design system. Collaborate with product managers and engineers to ensure a user-centered approach. Drive clarity, raise quality, and help shape the design culture. The ideal candidate possesses experience designing iOS applications for iPad, understands native design principles, and excels at identifying opportunities to deliver customer value.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience designing for mobile and touch-based interfaces, especially on iPad, iPhone and other native platforms
- Solid understanding of Apple’s Human Interface Guidelines and Google’s Material Design, and ability to design within those systems while considering platform-specific behaviours and constraints
- You are adept at understanding how users interact with native applications and are keen to explore cutting-edge design for future mobile technologies
- Fluency with design systems, prototyping, and user research methodologies
- Proven ability to apply design principles effectively in either B2B or B2C contexts. You are a proactive learner who continuously refines your design process based on new insights and industry trends
- Strong communication skills — you can clearly explain design decisions and bring stakeholders along on the journey
- Ability to think strategically about product direction — not just what and how we design, but why
- Experience leveraging AI tools to aid in the product design process to deliver better, more user-centered products
- Collaborative mindset and experience working closely with product managers and engineers to build user-centered solutions
- An acute level of self-awareness and deep empathy - for both the customer and your team’s goals
- Comfort with modern design tools like Figma, Google Suite, JIRA, and others
- As a global company with employees and clients outside of Quebec, fluency in English as a working language is required for this position

- Lead the design of the most advanced in-store selling experience on iPad — a native application that empowers retailers with elegant, high-performance workflows at the point of sale
- Translate complex, ambiguous problems into simple, delightful product features that deliver real business value
- Design clear flows, interfaces, and systems that scale — balancing usability, aesthetics, and performance
- Leverage and continuously improve our design system, maintaining consistency across platforms and contributing to its evolution
- Use insights from user research, analytics, and cross-team discovery to inform your design decisions
- Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and other designers to ensure a user-centered approach from concept to launch
- Be a visible design leader — driving clarity, raising quality, and helping shape the design culture within the team and across the organization
- Be a positive role model and culture champion within the design team as well as an advocate for design within the Lightspeed organization
