Product Owner

Summary

The job is for a dynamic and entrepreneurial-minded Product Owner to shape the future direction of a scientific research data platform, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and drive successful product delivery in a fast-paced startup environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or relevant experience in computer science, engineering, business, or related field
• 5+ years of experience in product management or product owner role, preferably in a startup or high-growth environment
• Proven track record of successfully delivering complex software products and scalable platform solutions from concept to launch with a focus on delivering business impact and value
• Strong understanding of agile methodologies, product management best practices, and software development processes
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a bias for action and a willingness to roll up your sleeves and get things done in a fast-paced and dynamic environment

Responsibilities

• Understand and translate operational needs into product requirements
• Partner with the operations team to ensure the platform is performant, reliable, and scalable
• Analyze platform usage data to identify areas for improvement and optimization
• Identify and evaluate opportunities to improve the development and release processes
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to facilitate improvements such as automating tasks, reducing bottlenecks, etc
• Demonstrate accountability, monitor efficacy and plan for continuous improvement within the product team
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders
• Collaborate with engineering, design, and other stakeholders to translate product requirements into clear and actionable user stories and acceptance criteria
• Drive development through agile methodologies, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and release management
• Monitor market trends and best-in-class offerings to identify opportunities for innovation

Preferred Qualifications

• Passion for technology, innovation, and delivering exceptional results
• Preferred experience in the healthcare, life sciences, or regulated research domain; cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP); and platform monitoring and analytics tools
