Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- 3-5 years of experience as a Product Owner or in a similar role within a software development environment
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and experience working in Agile teams
- Knowledge of software engineering principles and practices (coding is not part of this role)
- Proven ability to manage and prioritize a product backlog, ensuring alignment with business goals
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex requirements into actionable user stories
Responsibilities
- Product Backlog Management (20-30%)
- Define and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring it aligns with the overall product strategy and business objectives
- Collaborate with the Team Lead/Product Manager to refine and update the backlog based on changing requirements and market conditions
- Clearly communicate the backlog items to the development team, ensuring they understand the requirements and priorities
- Product Discovery and Stakeholder Collaboration (20-30%)
- Work closely with the Energy Product Experts to incorporate domain-specific insights into the product development process
- Actively participate in discovery sessions to gather and organise feedback from stakeholders and validate new features
- Ensure that stakeholder needs and expectations are accurately represented in the product backlog
- Sprint Planning, User Testing and Execution (Scrum Management) (20-30%)
- Lead sprint planning sessions, ensuring the development team has a clear understanding of the sprint goals and backlog items
- Participate in user acceptance testing, providing feedback and ensuring that the final product meets user expectations and is free of defects
- Monitor the progress of the development team, addressing any impediments or blockers that arise during the sprint
- Conduct sprint reviews and retrospectives to gather feedback and identify areas for improvement
- Present internal demos or support with their preparation
