Summary
Join our team as a Project Controls Associate! This full-time position, reporting to the Director of Construction, involves overseeing project controls for battery energy storage projects. You will manage planning, scheduling, and cost control, coordinating with the broader Engineering and Construction team. This role is ideal for cost control, scheduling, and project analytics professionals seeking to transition into full project management. Responsibilities include developing project control systems, supporting the Project Management team, and preparing cost estimates and budgets. The position requires travel and involves collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Requirements
- Must have a bachelorβs degree in construction management, engineering, business or greater in a related field
- Must have 2+ years of project controls experience
- Experience with Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, Project, PowerPoint and Word
- Experience with ProCore
- Experience in reading, interpreting, and managing project and program schedules
- Experience in developing project schedules and cost management tools
- Must possess a valid driver's license with a safe and satisfactory driver history, due to the position requiring driving to company locations, off-site assignments, and events
- Knowledge and experience with electric transmission and distribution systems
- Must demonstrate and value differences in others' strengths, perspectives, approaches, and personal choices, and must foster an inclusive work environment and respect all aspects of diversity
- Proven experience delivering time-pressured projects on-time and on-quality
- Ability to work in a small team
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Prolonged periods of working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project control systems for cost, schedule, and performance tracking
- Support the Project Management team to provide effective integrated project cost and schedule monitoring, tracking of budget variance, forecasts, project scheduling of key milestones, and provide cost and schedule reports
- Develop, coordinate, and maintain financial, schedule, estimate, budget, resource, procurement, risk, and other data for individual projects and for project portfolio within Microsoft Project and other systems / databases and query tools for individual projects and for project portfolio
- Interested in pursuing this role with the intent to grow into a project management position
- Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and cash flow projections
- Implement standard cost, schedule and risk management programs, processes, and practices to ensure Engineering and Construction projects are performed in accordance with approved budgets and schedules
- Coordinate with cross functional teams, vendors, and stakeholders to complete project analyses by their due date
- Coordinate, schedule and facilitate regular project meetings
- Develop, coordinate, and maintain status & variance reporting and executive dashboards for the financial aspects and schedules for projects
- Coordinate with finance teams for cost reporting and control
- All other duties as required
