Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in construction project controls
  • 5+ years of experience in data center or related construction of large-scale projects (>$250M)
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering or field related to construction
  • Ability to partner with the Account Leadership team to identify and capture growth opportunities within the client’s data center design and construction program
  • Ability to grow and develop a Project Controls Team
  • Provide leadership, strategic direction, and decision-making across the portfolio, ensuring program alignment with client objectives
  • Exceptional communication skills and ability to tailor communication to your stakeholders
  • Ability to work with a remote and geographically dispersed team (multiple time zones)
  • Experience with construction project management systems (i.e., Primavera P6, Unifier, Microsoft Project, e-Builder, Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement project controls strategies, policies, and procedures
  • Provide leadership to the team for a data center client
  • Oversee and manage the project controls function, ensuring effective monitoring, analysis, and management of project performance metrics such as schedule, cost, and quality
  • Establish a change management system in compliance with contract conditions and procedures; monitor and enforce the change management system for assigned projects
  • Manage cost/change control, including change order review, negotiation, and recommendations, delay analysis
  • Monitor, track and analyze schedule progress in the field (actual vs. forecast)
  • Partner closely with the Construction Technology Strategy team to aid in the implementation of a PMIS and ensure PMIS aligns with the project controls strategy
  • Support the preconstruction efforts in the review of General Contractor contracts and commercial terms, gathering of historical data, incorporation of master contract terms, communication, and management of finalized internal budget
  • Review the project contracts and ensure that all the contract conditions (invoicing, reporting, change management, etc.) are applied and fulfilled for project set-up, project tracking and reporting, and project closeout
  • Review financial reports to ensure compliance with budget targets, reconciliation of project charges against approved contracts and support gathering data related to unit costs within sites
  • Work closely with the Procurement and Equipment team to ensure alignment with the project controls strategy and provide support and guidance as needed
  • Analyze and communicate the projects Project Controls Health (financial, change, and risk) to project and leadership team
  • Contract Administration (retention, T&Cs, insurance, allowances, contingency, incentives)

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10 + years of relevant experience leading project control programs for major data center construction or construction programs (>$500M)
  • Ability to develop high level budgets for data centers and general understanding of key benchmark data
  • Previously managed a Project Controls team
  • Background in leveraging PMIS tools and other construction technology systems to streamline business processes and optimize efficiencies
  • Experience with G-Suite Products (i.e., Google Sheets, Google Slides, etc.)
