Prompt Engineer

Summary

Join The Browser Company as their second Prompt Engineer and play a crucial role in shaping how their new web browser, Dia, interacts with users. You will develop, iterate on, and refine prompts for large language models (LLMs), collaborating with Product and Engineering teams to translate user needs into effective prompt strategies. This involves building tools to streamline prompt iteration and staying current on AI and LLM trends. The position is a 3-month contract-to-hire with an hourly pay range of $70–$100. Once converted to full-time, a competitive salary, equity package, and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Requirements

• Currently be an advanced user of ChatGPT or Claude who relies on a wide-range of custom prompts for your weekly usage
• Have a willingness to constantly iterate on prompts and develop creative solutions to achieve expected outcomes
• Have a strong interest in staying up-to-date with the latest developments in AI and LLM technologies, particularly how they can be applied to real-world products
• Be able to translate product direction and requirements into effective prompts that deliver on user needs

Responsibilities

• Develop, experiment with, and refine prompts to achieve desired outputs from large language models (LLMs)
• Continuously iterate on prompts based on feedback, testing, and evaluation data
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to understand user needs and translate requirements into prompt strategies and solutions
• Work closely with Engineering teams to build tools that streamline prompt iteration, prompt tuning, and LLM evaluation pipelines
• Maintain detailed documentation of prompts and share best practices across the company
• Stay at the forefront on emerging trends, models, and frameworks in AI and LLMs

Preferred Qualifications

Have previous experience in product, engineering, or design, with hands-on experience taking a product from concept to its initial release (v1)
