Summary

Join our team as a detail-oriented Property Accountant and support the financial operations of a small to midsize property portfolio. This role requires strong general accounting knowledge, preferably in real estate, and involves managing property-level financial reporting, CAM reconciliations, and general ledger accuracy. The ideal candidate is tech-savvy, adaptable, and a quick learner of new systems. Experience with Yardi or similar systems is preferred but not mandatory. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • 1–4 years of experience in the real estate industry and Accounting preferred
  • Familiarity with lease structures, CAM, tax billings, and general ledger management
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset

Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly financial reports for a portfolio of properties
  • Review Balance Sheets and Income Statements to ensure accurate account balances and reasonable revenue/expense values
  • Maintain and verify accuracy of general ledger and journal entries
  • Perform CAM reconciliations and reforecasts (annually and bi-annually)
  • Prepare reports related to budgets, insurance, taxes, fixed assets, prepaids, commissions, and amortization/depreciation
  • Review invoices for accuracy and proper coding
  • Ensure timely completion of accounting tasks in line with the department calendar
  • Maintain well-documented workpapers and schedules to support reporting
  • Identify and improve processes related to core accounting duties
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and clients

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience with Yardi is a plus β€” equivalent ERP/accounting systems are also acceptable
