Prototyping Developer

Summary

Join Instrument, a remote-first digital product and brand experience agency, as a Freelance Prototyping Developer for an exciting project! You will collaborate with design and development teams to rapidly prototype marketing site redesigns. This is a part-time (20 hours/week) freelance role running from August 25th to October 3rd, 2025. You will use AI-based tools to accelerate prototyping and leverage your experience in rapid prototyping of web layouts and interactive ideas. The role requires close collaboration with creatives, developers, and strategists. The pay range is $45-$80 per hour.

Requirements

• Strong experience in rapid prototyping of web layouts and interactive ideas
• Experience working closely with creatives, developers, and strategists
• Familiarity with AI-based tools for coding and problem-solving
• Comfortable with quickly changing objectives and iterating on designs
• Ability to provide clear, light documentation for handoff to dev teams
• Ability to work on part-time engagements (20 hours per week)

Responsibilities

• Rapidly prototype layouts, designs, and interactive concepts based on design and strategy input
• Collaborate with designers, developers, and strategists to iterate quickly and efficiently
• Use AI-based tools to accelerate problem-solving and code generation
• Set up front-end or full-stack demos to showcase design and functionality
• Work quickly, adapting to changing objectives and frequently revising prototypes
• Handoff approved prototypes to development teams with light documentation
