Provider Outreach Specialist

Summary

Join RVO Health as a Provider Outreach Specialist and champion tobacco cessation interventions across New Mexico. Collaborate with the State Quit Services Training & Outreach team to provide free, evidence-based resources to healthcare providers, helping their patients quit smoking or vaping. This role involves planning and conducting training, promoting state quitline services, and adapting materials to meet specific trainee needs. You will conduct needs assessments, deliver training on brief tobacco interventions, and assist with referral submission and reporting. The position requires significant travel within New Mexico (up to 75% of the time) and strong communication skills. Requirements

• Knowledge of tobacco use and cessation interventions
• Familiarity with New Mexico health care systems
• Comfort with public speaking
• Ability to travel within New Mexico (up to 75% of time)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace

Responsibilities

• Plan training and outreach work (15%)
• Collaborate with New Mexico client manager and Director of Public Health Strategy on annual work plan, to be revisited and adjusted quarterly
• Use internal data (e.g., referrals) and external data (e.g., clinical quality measures) to inform and prioritize work
• Manage annual training budget allocation
• Promote state quitline services and training opportunities (20%)
• Represent state clients and RVO Health at state and regional conferences
• Co-develop and distribute promotional materials to interested parties
• Identify training prospects and collect contact information from interested parties
• Deliver training and technical assistance to health care providers (45%)
• Conduct needs assessment with health care system/clinic leaders
• Adapt training materials to meet specific needs of trainees
• Train health care providers on brief tobacco intervention and quitline referral processes
• Assist referral partners with referral submission and outcome reporting
• Report activities and progress (10%)
• Log training and outreach activity in standard reporting templates
• Contribute insights and recommendations to monthly and quarterly reports to client
• Track expenses and submit expense reports
• Invest in individual and team development (10%)
• Engage in knowledge building activities (e.g., webinars) and professional development opportunities
• Actively participate in, and share insights at, Training & Outreach team meetings
