Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements advanced data management systems design, or redesign, to utilize new technology
  • Gathers, analyzes, and cleanses public health and geospatial data sets
  • Applies analytical, statistical, and programmatic approaches to data
  • Develops, codes, tests, and maintains database programs
  • Maintains data integrity by working to eliminate redundancy
  • Researches and enables processing of structured and unstructured data to derive patterns, trends, and correlations and to enable entity extraction, disambiguation, common operating picture solutions, visualization, and other data-related support
  • Implements improvements to data entity extraction, entity resolution, pattern extraction, link analysis, human and social-network links/connections, cloud online analytical processing, data frameworks, visualization support, and related algorithms
  • Creates, modifies, and maintains software capabilities that extract insight from data, to include information, software applications, machine learning models, automation, and other software components
  • Stays informed of the ways the organization uses its data and recommends emerging techniques and technologies to enhance data use

Preferred Qualifications

  • Recent experience with CDC environment and standards: SDLC, technical architecture, release processes
  • Knowledge of public health data and related privacy requirements (HIPPA, PII, etc.)
  • Experience with cloud-hosted data tools and repositories
