Requirements
- B.S. in Civil Engineering
- Current CO P.E. license
- Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, practices, and methods applicable to a municipal setting
- Minimum 5 years’ experience designing public roadway infrastructure projects and writing construction specifications
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Project Manager position with exposure to technical applications, management of projects and staff interaction
- Ability to apply principles of civil engineering within the context of a service-oriented business environment
Responsibilities
- Interface daily with Clients, develop proposals, negotiate scopes and fees
- Responsibly spearhead plan processing at public agencies
- Coordinate with external consultants to develop comprehensive designs and strategies to exceed Client’s expectations
- Manage project staff including Design Engineers and CAD Operators, with the ability to mentor junior staff; delegate tasks maintaining schedule and budget
- Identify design criteria and oversee efficient design and plan preparation; engage with team members in design to develop skills
- Assist Leadership Team with marketing and client development
- Solve design problems using engineering calculations and general design standards
- Establish project controls and ensure quality in plans and service
- Ensure timely scope adjustments and invoicing
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience acting as an on-call Engineer with local municipalities
- Experience performing construction inspections and coordinating with Contractors
- Expertise in the preparation of grading plans, utility plans, site plans for land development design using AutoCAD and Civil 3D and the preparation of cost estimates
- Refined leadership and interpersonal abilities
- Excellent communication and organizational skills and a desire to function in a position of high visibility, both internal and external to the company
- Walk job site locations as needed
- Carry survey equipment if needed on job sites
- Valid & current Driver’s License
- Ability to drive a vehicle to job sites if required
