Summary

Join Scalable Capital's expanding Financial Engineering team as a backend developer. You will design and build a new platform using cutting-edge technology and modern software development practices. Collaborate with a motivated team to implement changes in the financial industry and develop high-performance monitoring tools. You will work with vast datasets from diverse sources and build interfaces with internal services. The role requires strong Python skills, AWS experience, and a solid understanding of databases. Requirements

  • Excellent university degree in computer science, mathematics, natural sciences, or a similar field
  • 3+ years of backend experience in Python (mandatory)
  • Hands-on experience with multiple AWS services
  • Industry experience with Docker, Git and RESTful API
  • Excellent knowledge in data-driven business applications
  • Solid knowledge of software development and design in Python
  • A soft spot for automation and clean code
  • Excellent communication skills that are clear, concise, and targeted towards your audience - engineering, product, or other stakeholders
  • Advanced knowledge of all varieties of databases
  • Fluent English language skills (written & spoken)
  • Proactive, independent, collaborative and easy-going working style, good time management, fair play

Responsibilities

  • Design and build a new exciting platform to serve our customers using cutting edge technology and modern software development practices (e.g. agile and self-sufficient teams, continuous integration and deployment, test automation, cloud-based infrastructure and tooling)
  • Work alongside a highly motivated team of software engineers and quant developers, implementing change in the financial industry
  • Develop and maintain innovative, high-performance monitoring tools serving regulatory purposes (Datadog, Metabase, Dash, ...)
  • Choose tools for storing, processing, and displaying vast and growing datasets from diverse data sources
  • Write clean, testable, maintainable and well-documented code and treat security as a first class citizen
  • Design and build interfaces with major internal services to connect the Scalable Capital asset allocation engine with the world
  • Design and build cloud-native solutions that process high volume of financial data
  • Create the next generation wealth management and brokerage services for everybody

Preferred Qualifications

  • Passion for the global financial markets
  • Experience in quantitative modelling and data-driven decisions
  • Java/Kotlin previous experience
  • Exposure and interest in our tech stack: Python, DevOps, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), SQL and event-based asynchronous architectures
