QA Tester

Summary

Join PolicyFly, a company modernizing specialty insurance, as a detail-driven QA Tester. This remote role involves ensuring the quality and reliability of the PolicyFly platform by working closely with product and engineering teams. You will execute functional, regression, and exploratory tests, log bugs in Jira, reproduce edge-case issues, review requirements, and collaborate on validating fixes. The position requires experience in manual QA testing, Jira proficiency, strong attention to detail, mathematical formula understanding, Excel competence, and excellent communication. A proactive, self-starter mindset is essential. The role is full-time remote, with a preference for candidates within +/- 3 hours of the ET time zone.

Requirements

• Experience with manual QA testing for software applications (e.g. are curious to reproduce, find and even document bugs found in software applications)
• Comfort using Jira for test case management and issue tracking
• Strong attention to detail and methodical testing approach
• Competence with understanding mathematical formulas (i.e. pricing an insurance policy)
• General experience and comfort with Excel
• English fluency
• Clear written and verbal communication (we’re remote!)
• A proactive, self-starter mindset with the ability to work independently

Responsibilities

• Execute functional, regression, and exploratory tests on web-based insurance software
• Log, track, and verify bugs using Jira
• Help reproduce and isolate edge-case issues across a variety of use cases
• Review requirements and user stories to identify test gaps
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to validate fixes and provide feedback
• Support release readiness through hands-on QA sessions

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the insurance industry (underwriting, quoting, or policy admin exposure is a big plus)
• Familiarity with test planning tools or QA frameworks
• Basic understanding of APIs or browser-based debugging tools
• Experience in remote team environments
