Quality Assurance Analyst

Summary

The job is for a Quality Assurance Analyst - Manual Testing at PolicyMe, a remote-first InsurTech startup. The role involves assisting in building comprehensive testing plans, executing test cases, identifying possible new tools or internal features that can improve QA testing quality and speed, supporting developers to improve automated testing, helping develop and execute a structured process for triaging bugs identified across the organization, and detailing out bugs to support resolution with the engineering team. Requirements

• Quality assurance experience: You preferably have 2-3 years of experience conducting quality assurance testing for web-based platforms
• Comfort doing a lot of manual testing: You are going to have to test a lot of new features! You understand that this can be very exciting, but also requires you to do repetitive tests from time to time to ensure deployment is ready
• Attention to detail: You are a safe pair of hands and can thoroughly think through all niche scenarios to test based on how our customers use our product
• Comfort with technical topics: While you don't need to know how to code, you will need to be comfortable becoming familiar with technical topics
• Fast learner: You are able to ramp up quickly on new topics and ask clarifying questions to deepen your understanding of a given product feature
• Strong communication: You are able to articulate key test status updates, test findings and QA program updates to a diverse audience, from walking through bug details with developers to summarizing testing progress to function leads
• Drive Initiatives: You are able to always look for new and better solutions to existing challenges

Responsibilities

• Assist in building comprehensive testing plans with the QA team and design test cases for assessing each feature's readiness for deployment
• Manage all aspects of the test plan to enable an on-time launch, including independently executing all test cases, documenting progress for traceability purposes and communicating testing statuses to key stakeholders (engineering, product, customer success etc.)
• Work with QA, product and engineering teams to identify possible new tools or internal features that can improve QA testing quality and speed
• Support developers to improve automated testing, ensuring new features are added to our automated regression testing suite
• Work with product managers to identify which bugs must be resolved before deployment and which are not critical path
• Help develop and execute a structured process for triaging bugs identified across the organization
• Detail out bugs to support resolution with the engineering team, including bug replication and root cause analysis
