Join the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) as a Temporary Regional Campaign Strategist! This 9-month, full-time position offers remote work opportunities across the United States. You will contribute to various aspects of campaign planning, execute affiliate campaigns, build strong affiliate relationships, and develop campaign strategies and budgets. Requirements
- Substantive experience designing campaign strategy and executing campaign plans and tactics
- Experience with issue advocacy and/or electoral campaigning at the federal, state, or local levels, including campaign management experience
- Experience working in and navigating coalition spaces
- Comfort with policy, including an ability to efficiently and effectively weave policy objectives into campaign execution
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, simultaneously handle many tasks; work efficiently, meeting multiple deadlines, while remaining composed under pressure
- Excellent research, writing, analytical, and communication skills. Excellence in analyzing complex concepts and presenting clear recommendations
- Strong independent work ethic and team collaboration skills
- Access to a major airport and the ability to travel substantially
Responsibilities
- Contribute to varied aspects of campaign planning, including helping to develop campaign goals, tactics, and plans to achieve outcomes on specific issue areas
- Execute and embed into priority affiliate legislative or advocacy campaigns โ including our Firewall campaign
- Develop strong affiliate relationships and utilize a variety of campaign tactics and tools
- With Regional Lead-level staff, develop campaign goals, plans, strategies, tactics, and budgets to serve the organizationโs policy outcomes
- Help facilitate on-the-ground meetings, planning, and campaign events in priority jurisdictions in partnership with ACLU affiliates
- Coordinate with other stakeholders, affiliate staff, and national staff, including policy staff within the political advocacy department
- Track program progress to goal and metrics through standardized reporting
- Demonstrate flexibility in adjusting priorities based on the changing external environment
- Engage in special projects and other duties as assigned
