We're seeking a dedicated and strategic Regulatory Counsel to navigate the intricate legal landscape governing employee welfare benefit plans and mental healthcare.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- Bar membership in good standing in any US state
- 5+ years of legal experience, preferably in-house with a high-growth health tech company or with a law firm that advises such organizations
- Strong understanding of highly complex regulatory environments and compliance in the healthcare industry
- Ability to quickly identify and assess issues, evaluate risk, and provide legally sound recommendations
- Experience in developing creative solutions to complex regulatory challenges
- Willingness to maintain a good-natured, collaborative, team-oriented approach to problem solving
- Exceptional written and oral communication abilities
- Strong understanding of business operations
- Outstanding organizational, project management, and prioritization skills
Responsibilities
- Review, research, and advise on regulatory matters related to the provision of behavioral health care services
- Offer strategic legal advice on regulatory matters affecting the companyโs products and services
- Identify, analyze, and track relevant laws and regulations that may impact the companyโs operations
- Collaborate with Corporate Compliance to implement strategies for new legislative and regulatory changes
- Partner with business stakeholders, including operations and sales teams, to address regulatory issues
- Support and collaborate with fellow legal team members on various projects
