Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in insurance regulatory reporting or similar role
- Strong knowledge of statutory accounting principles (SAP) and GAAP
- Experience with state insurance department filings and examinations
- Proficiency in financial reporting systems and data analytics tools
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellence in project management and team leadership
Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation and submission of statutory financial statements and regulatory filings
- Develop and maintain internal controls for financial reporting processes
- Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory bodies for examinations and inquiries
- Monitor changes in insurance regulations and assess impact on financial reporting requirements
- Create and implement policies and procedures for regulatory compliance
- Manage relationships with state insurance departments and other regulatory agencies
- Collaborate with actuarial and finance teams to ensure accurate financial projections and align reporting with budget forecasts
- Oversee the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements
- Direct the development of reporting systems and processes to meet regulatory requirements
- Ad hoc analyses and projects as necessitated by the business needs
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA
- Understanding of healthcare payment models and value-based care concepts
- Experience with startup or growing organizations
