Summary

Join Wealthsimple as a Credit Reporting Manager and play a critical role in building and implementing our Credit Reporting Program. You will oversee the end-to-end credit reporting process, ensuring accuracy and timely submissions to credit bureaus. This role requires strong analytical and detail-oriented skills, experience in credit reporting and risk, and excellent communication. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and manage the credit dispute resolution process. This is an exciting opportunity to shape Wealthsimple’s credit reporting strategy and work at the forefront of fintech innovation. The position reports to the Director of Payment Operations and Compliance.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in credit reporting, credit risk, compliance, or related fields within financial services or fintech
  • Strong understanding of Metro 2® reporting format and best practices for credit bureau data correction
  • Experience working directly with credit bureaus and managing dispute resolution processes
  • Exceptional project management and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience collaborating across multiple teams
  • Familiarity with automated credit reporting systems and regulatory audit processes

Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead the creation of Wealthsimple’s Credit Reporting Program from the ground up
  • Oversee and manage the end-to-end credit reporting process, ensuring accurate and timely submissions to credit bureaus
  • Act as the primary liaison with credit bureaus, resolving data discrepancies and maintaining compliance with industry regulations
  • Establish and enforce internal policies and procedures to align with regulatory and bureau requirements
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with teams including Credit Risk, Compliance, and Operations to ensure consistency and accuracy in reporting
  • Implement data quality controls, including error detection and correction mechanisms to minimize inconsistencies
  • Lead and oversee the credit dispute resolution process, ensuring timely and effective responses to consumer disputes

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience building and implementing policies and procedures from the ground up
  • Operational experience in payments and other areas of expertise within the payments ecosystem
  • Knowledge of credit processor integrations and optimizing credit-related workflows
  • Background in credit, prepaid banking, payments, consulting, or startups
