Reinsurance Investment Accounting Associate

Summary

Global Atlantic is seeking an Associate for Investment Accounting to complete high volume accounting tasks and support strategic developments within the company. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related with 4+ years of relevant experience, strong computer skills, familiarity with GAAP accounting principles, and excellent interpersonal skills.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related
• 4+ years of relevant experience, public accounting a plus
• Excellent computer skills, familiarity with tools such as Tableau, or other query tools
• Strong research and problem solving capabilities a must
• Solid understanding of GAAP accounting principles. Familiarity with statutory, investments, reinsurance preferred

Responsibilities

• Produce required Investment disclosure to support quarterly audited financials for multiple legal entities
• Research and improve monthly roll forward reports on 30-40 trusts
• Contribute to automation and process redesign projects, leveraging system tools (EDH data warehouse, Tableau, Python)
• Work closely with the reinsurance accounting team and the Bermuda finance team in support of management initiatives and regulatory requirements
• Support AVP in preparing for and executing new transactions
• Improve holdings and trust reporting analysis

Benefits

• Base salary range: $82,000 — $156,000 USD
