Summary

Join PENN Entertainment's theScore team as a Release Engineer and contribute to the delivery of cutting-edge online gaming and sports media products. You will work with a dedicated team to facilitate production releases, improve release processes, and collaborate on projects focused on continuous deployment and infrastructure automation. This role requires experience with CI/CD pipelines, configuration management tools, containerization, and a programming language. Requirements

  • Experience managing CI pipelines as code (GHA, CircleCI, Jenkins pipelines)
  • Automation/Orchestration: experience with configuration management and infrastructure as code tools is a must. Terraform, Ansible, Helm, etc
  • Experience working with Containerization (Docker & Kubernetes preferred)
  • Experience with a programming language (Go/Python preferred)
  • Strong object oriented design skills
  • Experience in Linux
  • Experience with Agile practices (JIRA / Confluence)
  • Experience working with AWS, GCP, and/or on-premise
  • Ability to work independently and learn quickly
  • Love to use Git to make your life easier using CI/CD to protect your personal time
  • Automation experience with coding standards and practices, configuration management, API instrumentation
  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, and/or similar experience

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate/execute production releases with attention to detail and great communication
  • Work on projects that provide services to our stakeholders encompassing: Continuous Deployment, Self-service on-demand infrastructure and clusters, Integrated change and release management, Codifying release gates to evaluate readiness and risk
  • Identify areas of the release process which are ideal for automation in order to reduce toil, confusion, and human error
  • Work directly with Engineers to ensure best practices around design and development, source code control, and issue tracking
  • Other duties as required
