Requirements
- Provider must have active CA medical license*
- Qualifications: Active, unrestricted advanced practice medical license (PA-C, PMHNP)
- 4+ years of experience in direct psychiatric patient care (required)
- 2+ years of experience in management (preferred)
- Proficient in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems for documentation, patient charting, and managing healthcare information (ECW exp strongly preferred)
Responsibilities
- Directly responsible for the provision of direct patient care within the Ascend model (~20 hours per week)
- Manages assigned caseload by establishing priorities and balancing quantity and quality issues to ensure timely delivery and coordination of treatment services
- Directly responsible for the supervision, staffing, and coordination of BHMPs and clinical support staff within the community health center (FQHC) service lines and other service lines as directed
- Serves as the primary clinical leader and liaison for assigned collaborative partner organizations
- Aids in the integration and implementation of new contracts ensuring required deliverables are completed and timelines of each are compliantly adhered to
- Provides assistance in hiring and operational onboarding of new staff
- Complete annual performance reviews for each assigned direct report
- Communicate clear expectations around teamwork, productivity, and performance measures with each BHMP
- Demonstrates proficiency and care coordination between behavioral health, psych, substance use treatment and medical integration
- Conducts ongoing chart reviews to ensure compliance with established standards
- Participates in annual planning and operating budget recommendations to increase operational effectiveness and compliance with changing regulations
- Acts as point of contact/clinical expert on complex clinical and team management issues
- Identifies clinical and professional development staff needs; works collaboratively with the Associate Medical Director, Executive Director of Provider Development and other members of executive leadership
- Participates in review, evaluation and development of departmental, functional and/or service-related policies and procedures
- Participates in the investigation and follow up on patient complaints to ensure timely response and/or appropriate resolution to concerns/issues
- Participates in departmental orientation, on the job training and quality assurance programs/initiatives
- Other Clinical Management duties and responsibilities as assigned
