Remote Civil Estimator

Seeking a Civil Estimator for a direct hire opportunity with our client based in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. This is a remote position with travel as needed.

Salary is between $130,000 - $150,000 per year (based on experience)

We are seeking an experienced Civil Estimator with a strong background in civil construction. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience estimating for projects related to the Department of Transportation (DOT) and heavy dirt contracting.

Responsibilities:

• Develop accurate and detailed estimates for civil construction projects, particularly in DOT and heavy dirt contracting sectors.
• Utilize experience and creative problem-solving skills to initiate project estimates before receiving complete blueprints.
• Analyze key project details to create preliminary bids and refine estimates as more information becomes available.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure all aspects of the civil work are accurately captured in estimates.
• Conduct site visits as needed to gather information and verify project conditions.
• Stay current with industry trends, costs, and best practices to provide competitive and accurate estimates.
• Assist in the development of project budgets and timelines based on estimates.
• Communicate effectively with clients and internal teams to clarify project scope, requirements, and any potential changes.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in civil estimating, preferably with a focus on DOT and heavy dirt contracting projects.
• Proven ability to develop estimates without complete blueprints, relying on key project information and creative thinking.
• Strong understanding of civil construction methods, materials, and equipment.
• Excellent analytical and mathematical skills, with the ability to interpret technical documents and drawings.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote setting.
• Self-motivated and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines independently.
