Responsibilities

  • Lead DoD Business Enterprise Architecture (BEA) and Business Process Modeling initiatives
  • Lead EA initiatives and facilitate Technical Exchange Meetings (TEMs) to document and stay current on system architecture changes within the DON acquisition and procurement domain
  • Develop and describe the Enterprise Architecture in the context of the EA Modernization Roadmap for the Department of the Navy Acquisition domain and portfolio of systems
  • Assess Business Process Reengineering (BPR) compliance requirements and that enable annual funding certifications for systems in the Department of the Navy (DON) Acquisition (ACQ) domain
  • Act as liaison between DoN acquisition ITPM/FAM, DASN-P eBusiness team, Program Managers, system owners, business process owners, and DoN CIO to obtain and relay information used in developing and maintaining department’s Enterprise Architecture
  • Develop and maintain the system and enterprise architecture library using System Architect and DoDAF add on licenses
  • Create and maintain existing EA architecture views
  • Expand the use of Enterprise Architecture by enhancing and promoting its operational value

Job description

Job Summary:

NavAideis seeking a seasoned and motivated Senior Systems/Enterprise Architect (EA) with demonstrated experience to provide EA support within the Department of Defense (DoD). Seeking solution-oriented individuals who work well independently and are able to effectively collaborate with technical teams to document and produce DoD Architecture Framework (DODAF) artifacts. The EA will assist the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Procurement (DASN(P)) in its mission by providing System Architecture & Enterprise Architecture support for an IT portfolio that consists of 25 systems.

This is a hybrid position (mostly remote), but candidates must live within local commuting area of the Pentagon, Arlington, VA / Washington, DC, and be available to travel to the Pentagon on a as needed basis (10%-30% estimated). Candidates must also possess a US DoD Secret-level Security Clearance.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Expert proficiency in developing and maintaining System and Enterprise Architecture (EA) views and supporting artifacts in support of DoD Architecture Framework (DODAF).

  • Familiarity with the ARIS enterprise architecture software suite.

  • Expert proficiency in maintaining the integrity and currency of all architecture documentation and workflows and providing system, software, and technical recommendations that enhances system processing, data storage, data access, and application development.

  • Ability to architect solutions to accommodate complex business needs and design architecture to align technologies from network, compute, storage, platform, cloud, database, software, systems, security, mail, and others.

  • Expert proficiency in in analyzing and producing documentation that reveals the interdependencies between processes, technologies, applications, and data.

  • Expert proficiency in architecting solutions using Amazon Web Services for ‘cloud-scale,’ high availability, reliability, and security.

  • Demonstrated skills in system rationalization and performing technical stack assessments in support of DoD IT Portfolio system migration to Cloud hosting environments.

  • Serve as a mentor to share knowledge and provide coaching while learning from others.

  • Familiarity with the following DoD Data Visualization Tools: Advana & Jupiter (preferred).

  • Understanding of DON Procure to Pay End to End (E2E), acquisition, procurement, and contracting domain (preferred).

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive)

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of relevant Systems Engineering or System Architect experience

  • 5+ years of experience developing Enterprise Architecture for IT Portfolios.

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in an IT related field preferred.

  • Enterprise Architect Certification

Security Clearance: Candidates must possess a US DoD Secret-level Security Clearance

Travel: This position is mostly remote, but candidates must live within local travel distance of the Pentagon, and be available to travel to the Pentagon on a as needed basis (10%-30% estimated)
