Responsibilities

Description

The Infrastructure Administrator is responsible for managing and maintaining the organization’s public cloud infrastructure and on-premises systems. This role ensures the stability, security, and optimal performance of IT infrastructure. The Infrastructure Administrator will handle system administration, infrastructure management, security protocols, storage solutions, backup and recovery processes, capacity and resource planning, and network troubleshooting. Effective documentation, collaboration, and communication are critical for success in this role.

  • Public Cloud Management:

  • Design, deploy, and manage cloud-based infrastructure using platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

  • Monitor cloud environments for performance, security, and cost efficiency.

  • Implement cloud security best practices and ensure compliance with industry standards.

  • Virtualization:

  • Administer and maintain virtualized environments using technologies such as VMware, Hyper-V, or KVM.

  • Optimize virtual machine performance and resource allocation.

  • Kubernetes:

Minimum Qualifications, Education and Experience

  • Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • 2+ years of experience in infrastructure administration or a similar role.

  • Strong knowledge of public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).

  • Proficiency in virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, KVM).

  • Experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration.

  • Solid understanding of system administration, including Linux and Windows servers.

  • Familiarity with storage management solutions and best practices.

  • Experience in backup and recovery planning and execution.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, VMware Certified Professional, CKA) are a plus.

Physical Demands

This position often requires sitting, standing, walking, bending, twisting, reaching with hands and arms, using hands and fingers, handling, or feeling, speaking, listening, and high-level cognitive thinking. Also, must be able to lift up to 90 pounds occasionally. The position requires the ability to travel (~50% of time), drive a vehicle, and utilize other forms of transportation.

Working Environment

The position is remote. The employee will be expected to travel to data centers, conferences, workshops, etc. This position requires domestic / international travel up to 50%.
