Requirements

  • Previous tenure in a Lead Engineer / Technical Lead role, with experience delivering Salesforce solutions at scale
  • Master of your art, well versed across the full Salesforce development and implementation lifecycle, including deployment tools and processes such as GitHub, SFDX, DX CLI, TeamCity, and automation Testing
  • Well-rounded skillset, including experience of other programming languages such as Node.Js
  • Proven experience in auditing teams codebases, aiming to maintain high standards for security, testability, and to make changes easily; coupled with the ability to make code design decisions for all teams’ products
  • Ability to lead and/or facilitate discussions on application design, and implementation for scaling products to 10x the number of users
  • Strong leadership traits, and a proven track record of coaching and mentoring engineers across multiple disciplines, with Xero's values at heart

  • Work with Customer Platform leadership, sharing ownership of the overall Salesforce platform from a technical and architectural perspective
  • Work as a trusted advisor on innovative product discovery initiatives with our Product team and stakeholders

About the role

As a Lead Engineer at Xero working in the Salesforce ecosystem; you’ll be a role model for engineering excellence, supporting your team to grow their technical capability and improve development practices.

This is an hands-on, “on the tools” role. You’ll be expected to take ownership of the technical direction for the product group, helping grow our cross functional environment by identifying technical gaps, promoting capability growth, and championing & demonstrating modern principles and practices.

You will work with Customer Platform leadership, sharing ownership of the overall Salesforce platform from a technical and architectural perspective, while working as a trusted advisor on innovative product discovery initiatives with our Product team and stakeholders.

What you’ll bring with you
