Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in Law
  • 4+ years of experience within a legal function in law firms, Fintech, technology companies or financial institutions
  • Experience in the field of data protection and privacy laws. This includes familiarity with international, regional and local regulations
  • Ability to contribute and influence key commercial and contracting decisions
  • Strong management and organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to partner with colleagues at all levels
  • Collaborative spirit and problem prevention and problem solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to provide guidance that is sensitive both to legal and business perspectives
  • Implacable curiosity
  • Spoken and written English and Spanish
  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly
  • Willingness to work independently with minimal supervision

Responsibilities

  • Research and analyze laws,regulations and procedures to provide legal support
  • Carry out privacy impact assessments
  • Assess all sorts of legal matters: contracts, privacy, corporate, regulatory, and everything legal
  • Support the Contract Life Cycle Management by drafting, reviewing, negotiating, amending, releasing and guaranteeing the quality of middle/high complexity documents
  • Ensure proper follow-up of entrusted matters, daily tracking and update the progress to the relevant areas considering the timely completion of the ticketing system
  • Support with the internal corporate control including coordinate with outside counsels and draft corporate documents for the Mexican entities
  • Interact with stakeholders with different backgrounds, actively supporting them in getting things done
  • You will also need to not only do legal stuff, but to build and improve processes, and prepare presentations
  • Perform other related tasks within the job level as may be requested by the immediate supervisor

We are Belvo, an open finance API platform with the bold vision of democratizing access to financial services in Latin America. We enable any financial innovator to access and interpret financial data, as well as initiate payments from their end-users accounts. We’re turning the messy complexities of the Latin American financial ecosystem into a modern set of tools to access and interpret data and move money in a seamless and secure way.
