Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in IT or a related field
  • 3-5 years in virtualized infrastructure and backup/disaster recovery management
  • Strong experience with VMware (vCenter, ESXi), Nutanix, Citrix, and enterprise storage systems such as NetApp, Pure Storage, Dell, and HPE
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting virtualization environments and managing backup solutions (Veeam, Commvault, HYCU) in both Windows and Linux server environments
  • Knowledge of disaster recovery principles, including failover testing, data restoration processes, and disaster recovery planning

Responsibilities

  • Perform regular maintenance, system recovery, and firmware updates for VMware, Nutanix, and Citrix environments
  • Troubleshoot virtualization issues and optimize system performance
  • Manage virtual desktops and applications in Citrix, including resolving connectivity and server issues
  • Plan and execute system upgrades with minimal downtime
  • Oversee daily backup replication and backup copy jobs using Veeam, Commvault, and HYCU platforms
  • Troubleshoot and resolve failed backup jobs, conducting root cause analysis and coordinating with vendors
  • Perform file, folder, and SQL database restores, and conduct regular restore and failover testing
  • Implement security fixes and validate security for backup and disaster recovery environments
  • Generate compliance reports for virtualization and backup environments, ensuring adherence to industry standards and timelines

About the Role:

The Managed Services | Virtualization | Backup and Disaster Recovery Engineer will support the client’s virtualized environments and backup/disaster recovery systems. This role requires managing, monitoring, and troubleshooting virtualization platforms such as VMware, Nutanix, and Citrix as well as backup solutions such as Veeam, Commvault, and HYCU. The engineer will ensure optimal performance, perform regular maintenance, and manage system upgrades and backups. Responsibilities include failover testing, compliance reporting, and assisting with virtualization and disaster recovery planning and design.

What You’ll Do:

  • Virtualization Management & Support:
    • Perform regular maintenance, system recovery, and firmware updates for VMware, Nutanix, and Citrix environments.
    • Troubleshoot virtualization issues and optimize system performance
    • Manage virtual desktops and applications in Citrix, including resolving connectivity and server issues.
    • Plan and execute system upgrades with minimal downtime
  • Backup & Disaster Recovery:

Qualifications & Interests:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in IT or a related field

  • Technical Skills:

    • Strong experience with VMware (vCenter, ESXi), Nutanix, Citrix, and enterprise storage systems such as NetApp, Pure Storage, Dell, and HPE.
    • Proficiency in troubleshooting virtualization environments and managing backup solutions (Veeam, Commvault, HYCU) in both Windows and Linux server environments.
    • Knowledge of disaster recovery principles, including failover testing, data restoration processes, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Certifications: VMware (VCP), Nutanix (NCP), Citrix (CCA-V), or relevant backup certifications (e.g., Veeam Certified Engineer, Commvault Certified Engineer, NetApp CDA, etc.) preferred

Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors, including location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ. Certain positions may also be eligible for variable incentive compensation, such as bonuses or commissions, that is not included in the base salary.

Estimated Pay Range

$54,200—$78,700 USD
