Requirements

  • Bachelor’s of Science in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience
  • Eight or more years of experience in platform engineering or developer experience tooling to include
  • Five or more years of experience working with consumer facing websites and technologies
  • Three or more years of experience working with distributed systems
  • Experience and understanding of CI/CD processes and tooling such as GitLab, Github, or Jenkins
  • Experience and understanding of Go, Python, or Bash languages
  • Experience and understanding of Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Pulumi
  • Experienced enabling and troubleshooting containerized workloads in ECS, Docker Swarm or Kubernetes
  • Experience working in GCP or AWS

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop the platform architecture, including infrastructure, networking, and software components
  • Seek out and evaluate new technologies and make recommendations for their use as new platform features, capabilities and patterns, and improve system reliability
  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure their applications are optimized for deployment in an IAC environment, and meet security and compliance needs
  • Develop and maintain automation and deployment processes to enable and improve developer experience and efficiency
  • Implement monitoring and logging solutions to ensure the platform is performing at its best and identify areas for improvement
  • Encourage developer autonomy and self-service by contributing to developer training and documentation for Platform products
  • Promote a supportive culture focused on building reliable systems and processes based on established best practices in the industry
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in the platform, including performance and scalability issues
  • Implement security and compliance measures to ensure the platform meets regulatory requirements
  • Participate in on-call rotation to provide support for internal developer services
