Requirements

• J.D. from an accredited law school and in good standing to practice law in a US state bar
• 5+ years of relevant law firm experience, with a preference for additional in-house experience (particularly if it’s from a high-growth fintech)
• Laser-focus on client-service excellence by being highly proactive, responsive, adaptable, and team-oriented
• Demonstrated ability to develop solutions to complex legal matters without losing sight of business objectives
• Outstanding organizational skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously and effectively prioritize deadlines
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
• Natural self-starter, with the ability to work efficiently (both solo and as part of a team)
• Humility, integrity, and a desire to be part of a strong, encouraging team

Responsibilities

• Provide pragmatic advice and guidance on privacy and security matters in the U.S. and Canada
• Maintain and elevate Affirm's privacy policies, playbooks and processes to enable Affirm to continue scaling globally
• Work with teams across Affirm to help drive a global data protection program and governance structure consistent with relevant laws and regulations
• Partner closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that privacy is built into the design of new products, features, and business initiatives
• Partner with the commercial and vendor legal teams to ensure appropriate data protection provisions are incorporated into vendor, partner, and merchant agreements
