Senior Manager, Software Engineering

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience managing a development team
• 8+ years of experience in software development
• Expertise in designing highly scalable software solutions
• Proficiency with any of these languages: PHP, Python, Golang, TypeScript, Rust, Lua
• Proficiency with AWS and OpenStack technologies
• Experience with automating various processes, from build tools to monitoring
• Deep knowledge of agile development methodology

Responsibilities

• Lead a motivated, success-driven engineering manager ready to lead the development of our next-generation WordPress hosting platform
• Experiment with different approaches and technologies
• Delivers feature epics to production in sync with team sprint rhythm, tracks and improves team velocity, and provides reliable delivery estimates
• Translating complex business objectives into simple, scalable solutions
• Embracing a One System mindset and driving platform unification
• Utilizing data and analytics to enhance products and customer experience
• Accountable for code quality, scalability, and testability
• Influencing decisions and outcomes during interactions with leaders, executives, and customers
• Engaging in Tech Talks, open-source contributions, hackathons, and other activities to recognize and celebrate accomplishments. Exemplifying inclusive leadership behaviors and managing diverse talent

Preferred Qualifications

• Hosting industry experience, for WordPress or otherwise
• Experience integrating software with Ceph, Cilium, Nomad, SELinux, NGINX Unit, and Traefik
• Knowledge of software security best practices
