Join Mirum Pharmaceuticals as a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) or Senior MSL, a field-based role focused on building relationships with healthcare professionals in gastroenterology and hepatology. You will be responsible for scientific exchange, supporting research initiatives, and serving as a liaison between HCPs and Mirum. This position requires an advanced science or clinical degree and experience in MSL, ideally within gastroenterology, hepatology, or rare diseases. The role involves significant travel (up to 60%) and requires strong communication and presentation skills. Location is Northern California or the Pacific Northwest. Requirements

  • Advanced science or clinical degree (e.g. MD, DO, PharmD, PhD, NP, PA)
  • Able to travel frequently, up to 60% overnight travel and has a valid driversโ€™ license
  • Advanced computer skills (MS Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and willingness to learn new applications
  • Strong business acumen

Responsibilities

  • Identifies and develops professional relationships with thought leaders and other healthcare professionals, study investigators, and professional organizations in gastroenterology and hepatology within their assigned geography
  • Supports research initiatives across clinical development and provides support to study site investigators
  • Serves as a liaison between HCPs interested in investigator-initiated research with Mirum to facilitate review and consideration of research proposals
  • Engages in scientific exchange in response to thought leader requests
  • Provides education relative to adult and pediatric liver disease and, when appropriate, Mirumโ€™s approved and investigational products throughout the lifecycle
  • Communicates thought leader insights and observations to medical affairs and clinical development on a timely basis
  • Effectively articulates relevant scientific and clinical information relative to the therapeutic area to HCPs and researchers
  • Utilizes scientific resources to deliver impactful presentations to varying audiences and in a variety of different settings including (but not limited to) advisory boards, patient advocacy groups, and investigators
  • Provides accurate and unbiased assessment of community needs to senior management
  • Stays abreast of emerging scientific literature and clinical trial data in both pediatric and adult gastroenterology and hepatology
  • Supports the congress and conference strategy, providing scientific support and communication of scientific insights
  • Fully compliant with all company SOPs, regulatory requirements, and applicable laws including PhRMA guidelines for field-based employees
  • Completes other responsibilities in a timely manner, as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years MSL experience preferred
  • Prior experience as a MSL in gastroenterology, hepatology and/or rare disease highly preferred
  • Established relationships with gastroenterology and/or hepatology thought leaders is highly desired
  • Launch experience preferred
