Remote Senior Software Engineer

This role can be performed remotely anywhere within the United States.

As a Senior Software Engineer on our Internal App Insights team, you will report to the Senior Manager of Engineering and play a key role in Fullstory’s ongoing mission to expand our suite of product offerings. In this position, you will not only brainstorm and develop fresh product ideas, contributing significantly to our product and design vision, but also collaborate closely with customers to deliver meaningful value.

You will engage in rapid prototyping and experimentation to validate hypotheses and assess value propositions. As part of an autonomous team, you will own the SDLC from ideation to deployment and maintenance. To thrive in this role, you must exhibit exceptional problem-solving abilities and embrace creative thinking when conceptualizing new product ideas.

In a typical day, you might:

• Engineer systems that operate at hundreds of thousands of requests per second.

• Collaborate with teammates to craft the strategy and execution for scaling Fullstory’s product offerings.

• Maintain and troubleshoot parts of Fullstory’s production environment.

• Provide assistance to other teams in order to build impressive capabilities.

• Work closely with design and product counterparts to propose new solutions for customer pain points.

• Develop and refine internal app insights tools to drive data-driven decision-making and boost the efficiency of IT.

Here’s what we’re looking for:

• Proficient in structuring data and APIs effectively to enable capabilities across multiple services.

• Experience driving consensus on large, complex architectural changes through clear communication and technical writing.

• Experience writing production code in one or more of the following back end languages: Go, Java, or Python (and possess an ability to pick up new ones).

• Experience building web systems at scale using React, Typescript, or similar front end technologies.

• Experience supporting highly available and reliable cloud-based microservices, and familiarity with technologies similar to Kubernetes, gRPC, Solr (document search databases), BigQuery/Redshift, BigTable/Cassandra/DynamoDB.

The impact you will have in 6 Months:

• Contribute to the strategic planning of the product’s roadmap by providing technical insights, identifying upcoming trends or technologies that could impact the product, and proposing innovative solutions to meet future challenges.

• Deliver substantial code contributions, ensuring the development and deployment of high-quality features and improvements to maintain project momentum.

The impact you will have in 12 Months:

• Successfully lead the development and launch of a key project, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver on time and within budget. This may involve innovating a solution to a long-standing problem or creating a new feature that significantly improves user experience.

• Is a go-to expert in at least one area of the system. Assumes an ownership mindset for a major feature area of our product, seeking to understand directly from our customers how they derive value from the product.
