Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering or a related field
  • 5-7 years of demonstrated experience in software engineering
  • Strong experience in cloud engineering, with a focus on Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Go, Python, and TypeScript, with a demonstrated ability to write clean, maintainable code and using version control systems like git
  • Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure and related technologies (compute, storage, networking, etc.) on GCP
  • Proficient with underlying linux features such as cgroups, lvm, and systemd
  • Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like Pulumi or similar technologies
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration frameworks like Kubernetes
  • Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and the ability to design and develop them
  • Knowledge of security best practices and experience implementing secure cloud architectures
  • Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills, with a proactive and results-oriented approach
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to multitask and flexibility to adjust to changing priorities

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable and reliable cloud infrastructure on the Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Design and implement the tooling and infrastructure critical for optimizing our CI/CD pipelines, ensuring seamless and efficient development workflows
  • Develop APIs and services to facilitate seamless integration between the cloud platform and various web and robotic applications
  • Understand and work within a system of authentication and authorization
  • Work closely with the web and robotic application teams to understand their requirements and provide technical guidance and support
  • Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with data protection regulations
  • Continuously monitor and optimize the performance and reliability of the cloud platform, identifying and resolving any issues or bottlenecks
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in cloud technologies, sharing knowledge and best practices with the team
  • Coordinate problem resolution among a variety of functional areas and provide subject matter expertise support for diagnosing and resolving problems
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior members of the cloud engineering team
