Requirements

  • Has a payroll certification (PCP or PLP), currently pursuing or willing to obtain
  • Has 5+ years of experience processing payroll and administering employee benefits
  • Has experience in multi-province jurisdictions in Canada (including Quebec). US payroll practices and relevant legislation is a plus
  • Proficiency in HR & Payroll systems (preferably Workday)
  • Project management experience
  • Able to manage multiple projects or assignments at one time
  • Has sharp attention to detail
  • Takes initiative - strong personal accountability for high quality work
  • Has strong time management skills, adhering to dates and deadlines ensuring completion
  • Has strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Has excellent verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Act as a subject matter expert for Payroll special projects within the People Ops Team and across the organization
  • Provide advice and solutions to stakeholders on payroll best practices, impacts, risks, and issues
  • Act as liaison between the various project teams and Payroll
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document business requirements, develop workflows and processes related to Payroll, Benefits, Time and Absence systems
  • Participate in integration building, testing, enhancements and implementation of systems impacting payroll
  • Build scalable processes and procedures
  • Develop and maintain project schedules and ensure documentation is maintained throughout the project
  • Develop strong relationships with clients and stakeholders
  • Contribute to the development of new ideas and approaches to improve work processes
  • Assist members of the Payroll Team as required
