Requirements
- Has a payroll certification (PCP or PLP), currently pursuing or willing to obtain
- Has 5+ years of experience processing payroll and administering employee benefits
- Has experience in multi-province jurisdictions in Canada (including Quebec). US payroll practices and relevant legislation is a plus
- Proficiency in HR & Payroll systems (preferably Workday)
- Project management experience
- Able to manage multiple projects or assignments at one time
- Has sharp attention to detail
- Takes initiative - strong personal accountability for high quality work
- Has strong time management skills, adhering to dates and deadlines ensuring completion
- Has strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Has excellent verbal and written communication skills
Responsibilities
- Act as a subject matter expert for Payroll special projects within the People Ops Team and across the organization
- Provide advice and solutions to stakeholders on payroll best practices, impacts, risks, and issues
- Act as liaison between the various project teams and Payroll
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document business requirements, develop workflows and processes related to Payroll, Benefits, Time and Absence systems
- Participate in integration building, testing, enhancements and implementation of systems impacting payroll
- Build scalable processes and procedures
- Develop and maintain project schedules and ensure documentation is maintained throughout the project
- Develop strong relationships with clients and stakeholders
- Contribute to the development of new ideas and approaches to improve work processes
- Assist members of the Payroll Team as required
