Requirements

• 20+ years experience in data roles; some ecommerce or marketplace experience preferred
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to apply technological advancements to real business problems
• Proven experience in a senior data leadership role with a team of 50+, with a strong track record of developing and executing data strategies that have driven significant business impact at a strong product company
• Extensive expertise in data science, machine learning, analytics, and experimentation methodologies
• Leadership qualities with experience in building, mentoring, and leading high-performing data teams
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data concepts into actionable business insights
• Strong understanding of data systems, architecture, and ML ops, with the ability to oversee the implementation and management of scalable data and machine learning pipelines
• Strong understanding of data governance, privacy, and regulatory requirements relevant to the US, UK and EMEA
• A forward-thinker, with a passion for staying ahead of data trends and technologies
• Relevant advanced degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or a related field

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive data strategy that aligns with the company's objectives
• Lead and expand a team of data professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning
• Oversee the development and deployment of advanced data science and machine learning models to solve complex business challenges, improve customer experiences, and drive innovation
• Lead the analytics function to deliver actionable insights and recommendations that inform strategic decisions and operational improvements across the business
• Champion a test-and-learn culture by overseeing the experimentation framework and processes, ensuring rigorous evaluation of new ideas and initiatives
• Establish and maintain robust data governance practices and standards to ensure data quality, privacy, and security compliance
• Work closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for leveraging data, ensuring data initiatives are aligned with business priorities
• Stay abreast of industry trends and technological advancements in data analytics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence, identifying opportunities for adoption and investment
