Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business administration, engineering, or related field. Master’s degree preferred
  • 15+ years’ progressive experience in supply chain management, preferably within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or radiopharmaceutical industry required
  • Prior experience with global supply chain preferred
  • Dangerous goods handling experience strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end supply chain processes, including demand forecasting, procurement, manufacturing, logistics, and distribution, with a focus on global operations
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and managing global supply chain teams, driving performance, and implementing process improvements
  • Comprehensive knowledge of regulatory requirements and quality standards applicable to the pharmaceutical industry, such as FDA cGMP, ICH guidelines, and Good Distribution Practices (GDP)
  • Experience in managing complex supplier and contract manufacturing relationships, including negotiation, performance management, and risk mitigation
  • Proficiency in using supply chain management software and systems, e.g., SAP and advanced analytics tools to analyze data and make informed decisions
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex supply chain issues, identify root causes, and develop effective solutions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and influence stakeholders at various levels of the organization
  • Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement, innovation, and staying ahead of industry trends

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the global supply chain strategy in alignment with the company’s overall business goals, ensuring a robust and scalable supply chain infrastructure
  • Support global supply chain strategic planning and vendor selection in partnership with Manufacturing by defining and ensuring the varied needs of the portfolio are covered
  • Lead and manage a team of supply chain professionals globally, providing guidance, coaching, and development opportunities to optimize team performance
  • Establish strong collaborative relationships with cross-functional teams, including Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Clinical Operations, Regional Operations, Logistics, and Finance, to drive alignment and ensure efficient supply chain operations
  • Oversee all aspects of commercial and clinical supply chain management, including demand planning, procurement, manufacturing, inventory management, and distribution, while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and industry best practices
  • Develop a vendor selection and oversight program to maintain strategic partnerships with key suppliers, CMOs, and third-party logistics providers to secure a reliable supply of materials and services, minimize costs, and optimize lead times
  • Establish and analyze key supply chain metrics and performance indicators, providing regular reports and recommendations for process improvements and cost optimization
  • Partner with Clinical Operations and Manufacturing teams to define and manage clinical trial supply strategies, including drug forecasting, demand planning, and comparator sourcing
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and maintain robust demand forecasting models and supply planning processes to ensure adequate inventory levels and avoid stockouts or excess inventory
  • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, including potential disruptions, quality issues, and regulatory compliance challenges, by implementing appropriate risk management strategies and contingency plans
  • Drive process optimization and standardization across the global supply chain network focusing on standardized process maps, leveraging technology, automation, and data analytics to improve operational efficiency and visibility
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging supply chain technologies, and proactively recommend and implement innovative solutions to enhance supply chain agility and responsiveness
