Requirements

  • 15+ years of experience in advertising, product monetization, or revenue strategy, with a strong focus on pharmaceutical advertising and healthcare marketing
  • Deep understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, including advertising strategies, regulatory constraints, and the dynamics between manufacturers and their agencies
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful ad monetization strategies, specifically within the pharmaceutical advertising space
  • Strong leadership and team management experience, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally
  • Expertise in advertising technologies, programmatic platforms, and emerging ad models within the life sciences and healthcare sectors
  • Analytical mindset with a data-driven approach to decision-making and revenue forecasting
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, with proven experience working with pharmaceutical clients and their agencies

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive ad monetization strategy with a focus on pharmaceutical advertisers, leveraging deep industry insights to identify new opportunities to grow revenue
  • Utilize your knowledge of how Life Sciences, pharmaceutical manufacturers, and their agencies operate to align our ad offerings with their marketing objectives, ensuring we are positioned as a valuable partner
  • Identify and create innovative ad formats and revenue streams tailored to the pharmaceutical industry, including exploring new budget opportunities, digital ad formats, and campaign models that resonate with this highly regulated sector
  • Own vision, direction, and strategy of sponsor-facing products, serve as a subject matter expert for our provider-facing products, and own all aspects of ad specifications and associated communication to stakeholders
  • Act as liaison between the product management and sponsor sales/revenue operations teams, ensuring product capabilities align with advertising needs while driving successful monetization initiatives
  • Oversee all aspects of our pharmaceutical ad offerings, including pricing, packaging, positioning, and specifications, ensuring compliance with industry regulations while delivering value to advertisers and revenue growth for the company
  • Collaborate with finance, sales, and product teams teams to build business cases, model revenue potential, and support decision-making for advertising initiatives
  • Work with the Client Sales Team to foster and manage relationships with pharmaceutical companies, advertising agencies, and other key stakeholders to ensure strong collaboration and maximize ad spend opportunities
  • Use data and analytics to assess ad performance, optimize campaigns, and drive higher ROI for advertisers
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of ad strategists and Product Managers focused on the pharmaceutical industry, fostering a culture of innovation and operational excellence

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and strategic leader to serve as the VP, Monetization and Ad Strategy, with a specialized focus on driving advertising and monetization strategies via the Life Sciences industry. As the primary revenue source for our business, pharmaceutical advertising will be at the core of your responsibilities. You will routinely collaborate with key leaders and teams within our organization and within client organizations to optimize strategic execution against business objectives. You will lead a team focused on identifying new and innovative ways to maximize ad revenue through deep engagement with manufacturers, agencies, and our own internal product and innovation teams. Your expertise in how pharmaceutical companies and their agencies think, operate, and allocate advertising budgets will be crucial for developing strategies that align with their needs and unlock new revenue opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Monetization Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive ad monetization strategy with a focus on pharmaceutical advertisers, leveraging deep industry insights to identify new opportunities to grow revenue.

  • Industry Expertise: Utilize your knowledge of how Life Sciences, pharmaceutical manufacturers, and their agencies operate to align our ad offerings with their marketing objectives, ensuring we are positioned as a valuable partner.

  • Innovation & New Revenue Streams: Identify and create innovative ad formats and revenue streams tailored to the pharmaceutical industry, including exploring new budget opportunities, digital ad formats, and campaign models that resonate with this highly regulated sector.

  • Product Management: Own vision, direction, and strategy of sponsor-facing products, serve as a subject matter expert for our provider-facing products, and own all aspects of ad specifications and associated communication to stakeholders.

  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of ad strategists and Product Managers focused on the pharmaceutical industry, fostering a culture of innovation and operational excellence.

What You’ll Do

  • Product leadership (including the ability to generate organizational alignment and buy-in) and must have a spirit of innovation that will fuel the organization’s transition from a closed advertising network to a highly targetable double-sided platform.

  • You’ll represent PatientPoint at appropriate industry organizations and serve as an internal evangelist for the adtech/digital media transformation as well as emerging non-traditional advertiser messaging opportunities.

  • Requires expert knowledge of digital media and various adtech ecosystems with a focus on the programmatic landscape and novel monetization methodologies and a passionate desire to apply that knowledge to new frontiers in the digital out of home space.

  • Delves deep into the intersection between Digital Out of Home (DOOH) and programmatic media to develop/drive the vision and strategy that will propel the largest point of care digital display network to deliver a true programmatic offering for any/all programmatic media buyers.
