Summary

The Eclipse Foundation is hiring a research project manager to support its participation in European research projects in various technical domains. The project manager will contribute to dissemination and community building activities for the projects, facilitate project participation at events, and represent the Foundation at meetings. They must have minimum 5 years experience in EU Research project programmes and good understanding of Dataspace, IoT, and Cloud computing challenges and technologies.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in EU Research project programmes
  • Good understanding in Dataspace, IoT, and Cloud computing challenges and technologies
  • Work experience in a relevant field (research, project management, community building, technical writing)
  • Experience with software development, including CI/CD and related tools (e.g. Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.)
  • Ability to organise contributions from a diverse and distributed team and community
  • Strong team player, self-starter and able to work independently
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written)

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the activities of the Eclipse Foundation to support the European research ecosystem
  • Initiate and organise dissemination and community building activities for the projects
  • Support research project developers in working with the Eclipse Development Process (EDP) and open source best practices
  • Facilitate project participation at events, workshops, hackathons, and conferences to benefit the projects
  • Complete regular reporting (workload and expenses) as required by the EU processes
  • Represent the Eclipse Foundation at meetings and reviews
  • Encourage synergies among the EU projects and Eclipse Foundation members

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the Eclipse Foundation ecosystem
  • Experience with open source software community development and collaboration models
  • Some knowledge on Web-based communications including website content management, Social Media management (MailChimp, X (ex-Twitter), LinkedIn)
  • Fluency in German or French would be an asset
