Remote Resident Solutions Architect

Summary

Join Astronomer's field team as a Resident Solutions Architect (Infrastructure) and deliver top-tier technical solutions to clients. You'll work with major businesses, guiding them through their Apache Airflow journeys and acting as a key link between customers, sales, and product teams. This role demands strong Kubernetes expertise, programming skills, and a deep understanding of distributed systems. Compensation ranges from $170,000 to $200,000, plus equity.

Requirements

• Strong Kubernetes experience (GKE/EKS/AKS or OpenShift preferred)
• Expertise in at least one programming language
• Good understanding of network complexities and architectures
• Versatile Terminal and CLI user, this will be a hands-on role, frequently without access to a GUI
• Experience setting up and troubleshooting distributed systems
• Experience with complex SaaS infrastructure operating at scale
• Experience with at least one major cloud provider API/tooling
• Ability to read code
• Work effectively with git
• Cloud-native data architecture experience
• Strong customer facing skills
• Strong oral and written communications skills - should be able to explain complex technical issues to non-technical folks succinctly

Responsibilities

• Implement Astronomer’s software and services in the core of some of the world’s largest businesses and organizations
• Guide our largest and most complex customers in their Apache Airflow journeys
• Act as the core interface between the Customer, Sales, and Product to ensure that the broader solution around the platform is solving pain points and bringing value to customers

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience using or administering Apache Airflow, Autosys, UC4, Temporal, Dagster, or Prefect
• Proficiency in Python/Go
• Enterprise data experience with or in regulated environments
• Experience with scripting/automation specifically infra (Pulumi, Terraform, Ansible, etc.)
• 5+ years experience in a data engineering role or equivalent
• 3+ years in a customer-facing role
• Experience with ElasticSearch/Prometheus/Vault
