Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and work experience in quantitative fields such as Math, Statistics, or Economics
  • Master's degree
  • 10+ years of banking or similar experience
  • 8+ years Model Risk Management experience
  • Prior experience in dealing with regulatory agencies and/or internal and external audit entities
  • Attention to detail
  • The ability to manage multiple, competing priorities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Manage validation performed on models including, but not limited to, Underwriting, BSA/AML, and IRR models
  • Work closely with Accounting/Finance and Portfolio Analytics to ensure ALLL models are CECL standard ready and adequately assessing the reserve need given the risk inherent in the loan portfolios
  • Review model development documentation and supporting artifacts to ensure alignment with MRM submission standards. Communicate acceptance/rejection of submission, with reasoning, to the model developer and owner
  • Ensure model monitoring is performed on each model monthly and that performance is appropriately assessed by model developer
  • Write validation reports compliant with MRM procedures and documentation standards and conduct model validation testing
  • Review ongoing monitoring reports and/or plans. Review findings from model validations and ensure they are appropriately remediated
  • Evaluate Model Risk ratings and make recommendations as needed
  • Lead model validation meetings and communicate the final validation outcomes to model owners
  • Other duties assigned
