Ruby On Rails Developer

Summary

Join Encora as a Mid Ruby on Rails Engineer and be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software solutions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, lead technical projects, mentor junior engineers, and improve software development practices. This remote position, based in Peru, Colombia, Costa Rica, or Bolivia, requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field and extensive experience in software development with a focus on Ruby on Rails. You will need to demonstrate experience building and shipping web applications, working with RESTful web services, and utilizing agile methodologies. The role involves working with various technologies including AWS services and familiarity with CI/CD processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field
• Extensive experience in software development with a focus on designing and building scalable applications
• Professional/Advanced English skills
• 3+ years of technical experience
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• Extensive, demonstrable experience working with Ruby on Rails in a senior or lead role
• Experience building and shipping web applications and supporting them in production
• Experience consuming, producing, and designing RESTful web services
• Familiarity with modern web technologies development technologies (HTML/CSS/ES6) and one or more SPA Framework
• Proficient with version control systems (e.g., Git)
• Deep knowledge of agile development methodologies and experience in project management
• Demonstrated design and UX sensibilities
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or in a team setting
• Excellent communication skills

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain scalable and efficient backend applications using Ruby on Rails
• Design and optimize APIs and database structures for high performance and maintainability
• Collaborate with frontend developers, product managers, and designers to deliver seamless user experiences
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following best practices and coding standards
• Implement unit and integration testing to ensure application reliability and stability

Preferred Qualifications

• Ruby on Rails, Python
• AWS - EKS, SQS, RDS, Lambdas, ECS, API Gateway, SageMaker, and a lot more
• Terraform, Elastic, Github Actions
• Familiarity with CI/CD processes and tools
• Knowledge of AWS and Azure cloud services
• Previous experience in a start-up or agile environment
• Experience with React development
