Requirements

  • 2–3 years of experience in sales development, customer service, or a similar outbound commercial role
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a professional and persuasive approach
  • Proven ability to create compelling email copy and sequence campaigns that convert
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail

Responsibilities

  • Drive growth by conducting inbound and outbound prospecting efforts to generate high-quality leads for the SMB market
  • Educate and engage prospects via phone calls, email sequences, webinars, events, and targeted campaigns
  • Create and execute personalized outreach strategies, including cold calls and follow-up emails, to map and penetrate accounts effectively
  • Conduct high-level conversations with prospects to understand their payroll and HR needs
  • Qualify leads by identifying their challenges and pain points, ensuring they align with Deel Local Payroll powered by PaySpace’s solutions
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of lead generation processes, marketing activities, and key prospect touchpoints
  • Schedule meetings and product demos with qualified leads for the sales team
  • Follow up consistently with prospects to ensure attendance and engagement in scheduled meetings
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all interactions, leads, and activities in the CRM system
  • Monitor pipeline progress and report on key metrics to ensure alignment with sales targets
  • Work closely with the sales and marketing teams to optimize lead generation and qualification workflows
  • Contribute to developing the Sales Playbook and Tech Stack by sharing insights and refining processes
  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and South African SMB segment market opportunities
  • Build strong relationships with prospects and nurture them into long-term customers

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SMB-focused SaaS, HR, or payroll solutions
  • Previous experience in a fast-growing startup environment or remote/distributed team
  • Understanding the South African SMB market and its unique challenges and opportunities
  • Experience in HR tech, SaaS, or Fintech industries
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and sales engagement tools (e.g., Zoho, Salesforce)
