SAP Basis Engineer, Senior

Summary

Join Apiphani, a technology-enabled managed services company, as a Senior SAP Basis Engineer and provide technical support for client SAP basis systems. You will enhance, update, and deploy critical changes, design new solutions, and create procedures in the SAP area. This role involves project-based and production support, including SAP system migrations, landscape refreshes, data protection, and ongoing maintenance. Collaborate with teams to determine best practices and drive continual improvement in systems operations. The position requires a Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent experience and 7+ years of SAP Basis experience in a 24/7 environment. Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Sciences, or equivalent work experience
• 7+ years of experience as an SAP Basis engineer in a service provider or advanced IT organization operating in a 24/7 environment
• Solid background administering the SAP HANA database
• Understanding of SAP security principals
• Experience with configuration management and automation tools
• Familiarity with agile engineering practices (Kanban, continuous delivery, etc.)
• AWS and Azure service usage on commercial or government cloud
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
• Strong ownership bias
• Deadline and detail-oriented

Responsibilities

• Perform project-based and production support responsibilities as needed to support apiphani managed client environments inclusive of SAP system migrations, SAP landscape refreshes, data protection including database backup & recovery, HA configurations and ongoing SAP system maintenance activities, e.g., SAP performance management, patching, problem management, etc
• Work within and outside the SAP department to determine best practices for future landscapes
• Build and maintain comprehensive documentation for problem resolution actions, root cause, procedures, etc
• Drive continual improvement in systems operations through collaboration with both delivery and development teams
• Actively engage in root cause analysis, in collaboration with software development and other delivery teams
• Execute against defined project goals

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Ansible preferred
• Development experience with a high-level language such as python or java a plus
• Experience with Sybase ASE a plus
