Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in Physics required
  • Master's or Ph.D preferred
  • High school or collegiate science teaching or tutoring experience
  • Ability to work across multiple scientific disciplines such as life science, earth science, physical science, and engineering
  • Excellent writing ability
  • Strong analytical-reasoning and problem-solving skills
  • Can-do attitude with an openness to others' ideas
  • Highly self-motivated and efficient with superb attention to detail
  • Experience in curriculum development and instructional design is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Design and write clear, engaging, interactive science questions to meet specified educational objectives for K-12
  • Write helpful, age-appropriate explanations of scientific concepts
  • Ensure questions and explanations are scientifically correct
  • Collaborate with illustrators, other curriculum designers, and company leaders to determine appropriate content strategies
  • Develop and manage project plans to create and deliver high-quality science content
  • Research and review IXL's alignment to educational standards, common assessments, and popular textbooks
