Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in the Life Sciences
- Strong background in scientific content development across various project types
- Proven ability to provide leadership and mentoring to junior writers
- Experience managing client relationships and serving as a key point of contact
- Familiarity with compliance and regulatory guidelines for medical communications
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality material with a mix of hands-on delivery of specific projects and reviewing/oversight role across other projects and is capable of working across a variety of project types including publications and medical affairs
- Guide the scientific team on day to day tasks and is responsible for the accurate, high-quality, and timely execution of all scientific aspects of projects within a workstream
- Provide scientific oversight for assigned large/complex projects or a workstream, briefing, reviewing, and providing guidance and direction to less experienced writers in account team
- Be the client's day to day scientific contact, ensuring that all project-related discussions related to scientific matters are communicated effectively to the team and more widely to other AZ scientific indication leads as appropriate
- Foster excellent client relationships through trusted delivery of projects
- Collaborate with other functions including project management, client services and editorial within the workstream to ensure the overall well-being and efficiency of the scientific team, helping team members prioritize workload and tasks to deliver successfully
Preferred Qualifications
- PharmD or PhD
- 4 + years of medical writing experience, either achieved in an agency environment or in-house
