Security Technical Program Manager

Summary

Join Second Front Systems as a motivated Security Technical Program Manager to support the team in driving alignment between security requirements and product roadmaps. The role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams, identifying potential security implications, and ensuring timely completion of security requirements.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in program management
• Prior experience in Cybersecurity or DevSecOps
• Strong understanding of security frameworks, principles, standards, tools, and best practices, including vulnerability management, NIST, SIEM, SOC, etc
• Ability to navigate ambiguity, identify key insights, and define clear requirements in dynamic or evolving environments
• A self-starter with a proactive mindset who isn't afraid to take initiative and suggest improvements
• Experience with program management tooling and familiar with frameworks and methodologies such as lean, JTBD, agile, and various prioritization techniques
• Ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders; working closely with engineers to develop technical solutions and translating complex technical information into clear business terms for stakeholders
• Ability to adapt to change and work in a fast-paced, result-oriented environment

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product and development teams to identify potential security implications of new features and products early in the design phase
• Proactively communicate potential security risks to cross-functional teams and drive mitigation strategies
• Champion security requirements during product planning to ensure they are integrated into future development efforts
• Balance security needs with business and product objectives, ensuring that security risks are appropriately prioritized within the overall development pipeline
• Advocate for the security team's needs and priorities, ensuring they are aligned with product and business goals
• Help the security team navigate product constraints and timelines, ensuring the most critical security initiatives are tackled first
• Translate product and business priorities into actionable security requirements, ensuring the security team has a clear understanding of product timelines and goals
• Lead and manage security-related programs, ensuring security features are developed and released on time and within scope
• Monitor the progress of security initiatives and drive corrective actions when needed to keep the program on track
• Work with product teams to conduct risk assessments and threat modeling for new product features and launches
• Ensure the timely identification, communication, and resolution of security vulnerabilities throughout the product lifecycle
• Prepare and present regular status reports on security initiatives and risks to product and business stakeholders
• Keep leadership informed of key security developments, product security risks, and mitigations

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong interest in matters of national security
• Exposure with Agile Development methodologies
• Hands on experience with Gitlab, Markdown and MkDocs
• Prior experience in the public sector (government or defense) is a major plus
