Summary
Join ZipRecruiter as a Senior Accountant and contribute to the preparation of financial statements for SEC reporting, including Form 10-Q/K. You will analyze data, record journal entries, maintain general ledger accounts, and assist with monthly account reconciliations. Requirements
- Bachelorβs degree in Accounting or a related field
- 2β3 years of hands-on accounting experience in a corporate or public accounting environment
- Familiarity with SEC reporting requirements and strong knowledge of US GAAP standards
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex financial information clearly
- Meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
Responsibilities
- Support the preparation of the Companyβs financial statements for internal and external reporting, including footnote disclosures in the Form 10-Q/K
- Analyze data, including period-to-period fluctuations, to substantiate period-end balances and record month-end journal entries, particularly surrounding ASC 606 revenue-related and ASC 842 lease-related entries
- Maintain general ledger accounts and assist with monthly account reconciliations
- Contribute to SEC reporting and assist with technical accounting research and drafting memos
- Help manage internal and external audit requests for quarterly reviews and annual audits
- Document and monitor internal controls to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Participate in ad hoc projects, reporting, and analysis as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA certification
- Hands-on experience with ASC 606 and ASC 842 accounting standards
- Experience in public accounting with a Big 4 firm preferred
- Independent, entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to take initiative and drive results
- Adaptable and able to pivot quickly in response to changing priorities, embracing change with a positive and flexible approach
